雖然業界已不是第一次傳出蘋果可能偷偷進行更大尺寸的 iPhone 規劃設計，透過我們自己的消息管道也證實了此次，不過今日（9/6）《華爾街日報》（WSJ）則透露出更詳細的消息，那就是蘋果在規劃的將是一款 6 吋大的 iPhone。

根據描述，蘋果計劃的大尺寸 iPhone 可能由最小的 4.8 吋開始一直到 6 吋大都有可能，這也將是蘋果繼推出 4 吋大小的 iPhone 5 之後關於螢幕尺寸最大的變動了，不過目前看來確切的尺寸與對應的解析度尚未定案，軟體相容性如何解決也尚未得知。

其實 4.8 吋的規格先前也多次被各方媒體提出，不過6吋大小的規格倒是首次被點名，可能在大尺寸營幕的 Phablet 逐漸走紅之際，蘋果也無法忽視這個市場需求，除了推出平價的 iPhone 5C 拓展市場外，的確有可能根據分眾的需求推出大螢幕的機種。

至於蘋果一向對軟體的呈現要求很高，因此從 iPhone 推出以來，螢幕尺寸幾乎都有著一致性，從 3.5 吋放大到 4 吋時，也只增加了螢幕高度而寬度維持不變，以確保軟體顯示的完整性。推出 retina display 視網膜螢幕時也是利用畫素倍增的方式來提昇解析度，而不致讓軟體顯示變形。

接下來若是再把尺寸拉大到 4.8 吋或 6 吋，該如何因應恐怕蘋果可能還要再傷腦筋一次。或許蘋果可以考慮先前我們提出的方式，把螢幕解析度再拉高一次，再度把長寬的解析度乘以 2，如此一來不但不用擔心尺寸變大 PPI 下降，也可以保有軟體相容性，更可以把競爭對手拋在後頭，至於技術與成本問題，那就是蘋果與面板供應商多多傷腦筋一下了。
