在今年7月份的時候，EA宣佈即將推出自家包月遊戲服務EA Access，這項服務的概念與Sony為PlayStation家族準備的PlayStation Plus，以及Microsoft在Xbox 360、Xbox One上推出的Game with Gold類似，不過EA高層進一步確認，登上Access的遊戲並不會在時間過後即遭下架處分。
不用搶在時效內購買
PlayStation Plus與Game with Gold的運作模式相當類似，兩者都是需要額外付款購買會員資格，在會員期間內，玩家可以享受每個月提供的免費遊戲，這些遊戲的陣容不乏上市半年至1年間的強檔遊戲，只要玩家曾經「購買」過這些遊戲（需進行金額為0元的結帳手續），無論是否已經超過免費提供的期限，都可以再次下載。兩者最大的差異在於PlayStation Plus免費遊戲必需在會員期間內才能遊玩免費遊戲，會員資格過期後，則需再次付費成為會員才能繼續遊玩，Game with Gold則無此限制。
根據Computer and Video Games網站的報導，EA的首席運營長（Chief Operating Officer）Peter Moore在接受訪問時，不但提到遊戲陣容會隨著時間增加，其中也會包含3A級大作，但是加入的時機並不會有特定的模式或時間表，另一方面，只要遊戲一但進入免費遊玩陣容，就會永遠留在架上，不像PlayStation Plus與Game with Gold會將遊戲下架。

若以1年會員價格進行比較，EA Access每年會員費約為新台幣900元，PlayStation Plus 每年會員費為新台幣1,088元，能享受Game with Gold的Xbox Live金會員資格則為每年新台幣1,685元。雖然說PlayStation Plus與Game with Gold的單價比較高，但是都具有除了免費遊戲之外的服務，也是PlayStation 4、Xbox 360、XboxOne等遊戲主機進行線上遊戲的必要資格，所以相較之下，各服務的價格相差不大。
