Holocube 是全像 3D 顯示中的先驅，2008 年該公司推出第一台 3D 全像投影機後，就一直致力於縮小全像投影機的大小。近日他們推出最新的 Holocube HC 平板套，透過這款平板套，能將 iPad 上的圖像投影到透明螢幕上，讓人眼產生立體視覺，把原先平面的圖片變得像 3D 立體圖一般。
先來看一段 Holocube 的介紹影片，就能更了解什麼是全像投影：

這項神奇的技術得先從桌上型電腦開始，使用者需要先利用 Maya 或 Realflow 等軟體繪製一段 3D 動畫，接著再將這段動畫放到 iPad 裡，透過 iPad 內建的加速度感應器能讓它更有律動感。完成後就可以將 iPad 放進 HC Tablet 平板套中，平板套將會投影剛剛製作的那段動畫到套子上方、呈現 45 度角傾斜的透明螢幕上。
HC Tablet 平板套上的傾斜透明螢幕，能營造出一種將平板投影畫面變成 3D 且飄浮在空中的錯覺，同時 iPad 上還會多蓋一片濾波器，防止裝置產生其他干擾。
Holocube 是一款非常新奇有趣的產品，至少目前市面上還沒有看到相似的競品出現，雖然目前在消費性市場開始有廠商將投影機內建在裝置中，不過他們的用途並不是製造出 3D 效果。除了 Holocube 外，還有另一家名為 Magic Leap 的公司甚至擁有可以不用螢幕，直接將 3D 畫面投影出來的技術。
