在email如此發達的時代，你只要打開電腦，就可以發一封信給radio station。《多益測驗官方全真試題指南II》裡，就有一位聽眾寫了一封信給他最愛的廣播電台，為了什麼原因呢？

Dear WHKK Radio,
I heard a wonderful symphony on my car radio last Tuesday morning around 10 A.M.（親愛的WHKK廣播電台，在週四早上10點左右，我在我車子的廣播裡，聽到一首很讚的交響樂。）

從「Dear XXX Radio」與on my car radio兩個線索中，我們知道他在寫信給廣播電台。你不一定喜歡交響樂，但是symphony這個字算是常見字，它的結構其實很好記，英文字首「syn-、sym-、sys-」都有「一起」的意思，中間的phon是「聲音」，例如電話是telephone，許多樂器一起發出聲音，那不就是交響樂嗎？

為何要為這首交響樂寫此信呢？他接著說道：

Unfortunately I got to work before the host announced the composer and name of the piece.

在廣播節目主持人尚未報出此曲的作曲者與曲名之前，他因為趕著去工作而錯過。句中的host是多益測驗的高頻字，它的特色是名詞、動詞、形容詞三態同型，有「作主人、主持、作東道主」之意，所以主持人、主辦者、主人等等，都用這個字。

例句：South Africa is the host country for the football game. （南非是此次足球比賽的主辦國。）

此曲的曲名為何如此重要呢？他說：

I would like to have this information because I think a recording of this music would make an excellent birthday present for my wife.

原來他要以此曲的唱片做為送給他太太的生日禮物，句中的present也是多益測驗的高頻字，因為它是名詞的「禮物」，又是形容詞的「現在的」與「在場的、出席的」，又是作「簡報」（presentation）的動詞，有「提出、呈現」之意，它可是多益測驗同時在閱讀與聽力兩項的熱門「多義字」。

他的這封給廣播電台的信只有短短5句，他在信尾末句問道：

As long as I am writing, let me add that I moved to the area recently and have been delighted by the variety of types of music that your station plays. Also, is it possible to get a list of your programs and the times they are broadcast?

variety　n. 各式各樣、多樣性、多元
list　n./v. 清單、表、目錄 ; 列舉、列示

國立高雄大學臉書日前PO出一張有趣照片，寫著：「若您曾上過『謝董』的課，就對這些（印章）評語不陌生，甚至還令您會心一笑。」也建議已報名各校法律相關學系推甄的高中生，先看看謝開平教授的印章，看看個人特質合適否此領域。

其中「學好中文遠比學法律更迫切」、「法律不是唬濫」、「應該沒來上過課」、「你說了算」……等等，其中還有「同情」印章，請問謝董，看在同情的份上，可以不要當掉嗎？（劉燕美／台北報導）
