4K解析度為口語上的俗稱，其名稱是取4096 x 2160水平解析度像素約等於4K像素簡化而來，其英文為Ultra HD（Ultra High Definition），其中4096 x 2160或者是3840 x 2160都是屬於這個解析度，與目前主流Full HD相比，則是4倍的解析度，能夠在同面積下顯示更精細的畫質。
雖然原廠都未表示採用哪一款面板，但經查詢後即可猜測出該類型機種有極大可能是採用CHIMEI INNOLUX（群創光電）所生產的M280DGJ-L30，該面板解析度為3840 x 2160，採用TN面板技術，也就是目前市場上最大眾也價格最低廉所大量採用的技術，該技術優點為反應時間快，但缺點則是可視角度無法像IPS等面板擁有178度可視角，這類型面板並不適合在觀看位置較遠，觀看角度較多的電視螢幕中推出，但在電腦螢幕中，屬於尚可接受的產品。

在前面介紹了華碩推出PQ321Q，但其動輒10萬元以上的價位對於大眾消費者或者是較具經濟能力的玩家來說還是太過於昂貴了，而在2014年CES大展上，華碩、飛利浦、戴爾都不約而同的推出平價4K螢幕，其售價從最低的戴爾P2815Q 699美元，華碩PB287Q 799美元與飛利浦的288P6 1199美元，大多在台幣21,000至36,000元之間，對比於目前台灣市場上WQHD（2560 x 1440）解析度的IPS面板螢幕均價21,900至26,900元來說，4K TN面板的價位稱得上非常廉價，甚至重疊在原先WQHD的市場上。
