最近在Kickstarter上， ACTON M Scooter專案成功獲得了超過7萬美元的融資，超出了之前5,5000美元的目標。利用這筆融資，發起人Peter Treadway與ACTON團隊就能順利將其M Scooter產品──一台三輪電動代步工具商業化。售價約為1300歐元（約53,404元台幣），這款PET設備最快能在2014年上半年投放市場。
所謂PET，即Personal Electric Transporter，個人電動行動工具。大名鼎鼎的兩輪電動車Segway就是這個領域的代表產品，相信讀者也並不陌生。這類工具非常適合在固定場所內的短距離行駛，體積小巧、行動靈活，尤其在旅遊景點、辦公室以及會議中心等應用比較廣泛。在人們普遍關注的智慧型硬體幾近泡沫的時候，其實有一群人還在默默地設計與改進著更為實用的PET工具。
而這些熱衷於PET的「懶人」，在最近幾年（尤其是2013年）借助群眾募資平台可以說搞得風生水起。如果你在美國最大的兩家的群眾募資平台Indiegogo和Kickstarter上搜尋「Scooter」一詞，你會發現很多類似於ACTON M Scooter的產品，全部都以實現Segway的功能為目標。並且最重要的是，大部分項目都成功獲得了融資，甚至超出了既定的目標融資額度。在群眾募資這個融資平台上，人們對於PET工具的熱情可見一斑。
M Scooter最高時速可達20km/h，單次充電續航里程為25公里，充電時間最快為2小時。特別注意的是，M Scooter採用的電池不是我們常見的電動自行車的鉛酸電池或鎳氫電池，更不是電動汽車上的鋰電池，而是智慧型手機上用的鋰聚合物電池。這種鋰聚合物電池在過熱時容易發生起火，並且完整循環充放電次數較少。
