但現在，什麼，只需要向我送一個秋波(眨眼)，隨時我就被有可能被拍到 Google Glass 裡面？
其實大家不必驚訝，眨眼拍照功能在 Google Glass上並不是新鮮事，早在半年前就有第三方應用程式支持這個功能，而為何這個對隱私如此有侵略性，而且在社會場合具有爭議性的功能放進官方更新裡面？個人認為，因為 Google Glass 本身已經是一件有爭議性的硬體，因為它的新和強大，推出不到一年，出於各種顧慮，酒吧、俱樂部、餐廳等無數公眾場合已經陸續將這款穿戴式智能設備拒之門外。
既然社會對 Google Glass 已經表達出一個防範的態度，那麼我們是否可以假設，當這類產品普及化後，社會自然會有一個約定俗成的禮儀：在特定公共場合，請摘下你的 Google Glass。這是硬性的要求，沒有理由，就如你入教堂需要脫帽，進入靈堂需要摘下墨鏡一樣。甚至如果你的朋友感到不舒服，也可以叫你摘下眼鏡，就等於他們不喜歡你全天候捧著一部 DV 機一樣。
如果這樣的趨勢是存在的話，誰還在乎你如何使用 Google Glass ，誰還在乎你在車中是用語音，還是眨眼，還是舔舌頭來操作？
相反，在科技進步到能做進眼球之前，Google Glass 佩戴者的特徵並不難辨認出來。那麼既然大家已經對 Google Glass 有一個清楚的認識，以及對它的「威脅」 足夠清楚的話，一些多餘的「警告」 就不再需要了，進一步的說，既然我不需要提醒你它能幹什麼，那作為 Google，自然可以放心把產品做得更好。
而且 Google 的棋局不僅於此，「眨眼拍照片」只是 Google Glass 眨眼系列的開始，在 Google 在官方聲明中表達的暢想是——想像有一天，在出租車上付費你只要對著計費表眨眼；購物時你對著一對鞋子眨一眼，第二天它就會出現在你家門前；對著食譜眨一眼，料理的步驟就會自動出現在你的眼（鏡）前。

今天的 XE12 更新為 Google Glass 增添了不少有用功能，例如支援 iOS 系統、Hangouts、上傳 YouTube、加入 Lock Screen 鎖定功能提高了設備安全性等等。但當中最實用，也是最具爭議性的更新就是——眨眼拍照。
