「Chromecast」 是 Google 所推出的一款產品，當然目標是在挑戰「Apple TV」，與 Apple TV 不同的是，ChromeCast 是一個跨平台的商品，舉凡在 Windows、MAC、Android 或是 iOS 上，都可以使用 Chromecast 的功能，因為價格相當便宜，所以海芋也透過管道弄到一隻到手，就讓海芋將測試結果，忠實呈現在這篇文章中囉！
一、開箱
一開始收到 Chromecast 的盒子，外觀長這樣，體積並不大，而且有支援 HDMI。
這是內部，非常精簡的包裝。
打開之後，看得到盒子左則就有寫如何安裝了。

這是比較清楚的照片，右邊的頭是要接 HDMI 的。
以下是全部的內容，有電源、HDMI 線、Chromecast 等。
二、設定
在一陣手忙腳亂插上電視之後，接下來就是設定了，而初始設定畫面左下角這是你的裝置名稱。
在開始進行設定之前，如果是手機或平板，請分別上 App Store 或 Google Play 搜尋「Chromecast」 來設定，如果是要使用桌機版設定的朋友，請下載 「Chromecast 桌機版的應用程式 (https://cast.google.com/chromecast/setup)」來安裝後，並且進行設定。
如下圖，可以從 Chrome 來暫停影片的播出，而如果你要將目前的分頁，鏡射到電視上，請按下「Cast this tab」。
比較可惜的是，Chromecast目前只有支援 720p 的影像。
以上是 Chromecast 的介紹，看完後，你會有一個疑問，如果我在看 Google Maps，或者是寫部落格，我也想將這些內容映射到電視，可以嗎？其實只要是 Chrome 的分頁都是可以映射到電視上的唷，而且當你切換或開啟別的分頁時，也不會影響已經映射到電視上的分頁；但是在使用 Chromecast 來映射影像至電視上時，電腦或是行動裝置的聲音也會一併使用電視輸出！舉例來說，你已經用 Chrome 開啟了 Google Maps 的分頁，並將他映射到電視上，那麼當你再開啟一個 Yahoo! 分頁時，電視上出現的還是 Google Maps 的分頁，而不會是 Yahoo! 的分頁，而如果你在 Yahoo! 播放了一個影片，很抱歉的是，雖然電視是 Google Maps，但是在 Yahoo! 所播放的影片的聲音將從電視輸出。
就個人認為， Chromecast 只有 35 美金，跟 Apple TV 比起來，其實是一個相當便宜的裝置，而且支援跨平台、跨裝置都能使用，但比較可惜的是，沒有 Apple TV 整合租借、購買影片的功能，但 Apple TV 畢竟只能在 MAC 或是 iOS 上使用，就這點來說，Chromecast 的彈性似乎較佳。
然而，Apple TV 完整支援 1080p，但 Chromecast 最多支援到 720p，而且在 MAC 上播任何影片、開任何文件，做任何動作，都可以直接透過 Apple TV 映射到電視上，而 Chromecast 則必須透過 Chrome 瀏覽器，或者透過支援的 APP 才能映射到電視上，這點雙方的設計概念顯然是不同的，但海芋認為，這也是雙方產品特色和區隔所在，就看消費者買單那種設計理念囉！
