不管你在哪一個城市，只要你還準備結婚，還有個工作，而且父母安在，那你或許想過這件事情：在這個城市裡，我是不是要買房？怎麼樣才能買到房？什麼時候買？父母出不出錢？

因為你知道，沒有房子就沒有人願意嫁給你，即使老婆願意，她的家人呢？別人會怎麼看？孩子以後怎麼辦？看看下面這個故事：

有一個年輕人，我們暫時稱呼他為小菲。他21歲從某知名大學金融系畢業，因為在大城市裡找不到工作，於是回到老家，在證券公司當一名普通員工。

一年以後，小菲遇到自己喜歡的女孩小蘇，於是向她求婚。小蘇問他，沒房子怎麼辦？他說，我才工作一年，加上大學時賺了點錢，大概存了十多萬。我給你兩個選擇，一是花這筆錢在當地買一間小房子，二是讓我去投資，過幾年買一間大房子。

小蘇說好，我相信你，我選二。於是，小菲和小蘇租了一間兩房一廳的房子就結婚了。那間房子真是破舊，晚上都能聽到天花板上的老鼠在開派對。

第二年，他們生了一個女兒，還是沒有買房。結婚四年後，小菲的事業終於有了起色，他成為一家投資公司的合夥人。第六年，他在新的公司站穩了腳步，收入也開始穩定，他花了大概30萬在當地買了一間普通房子，全家搬了進去。

等他32歲的時候，終於賺到自己的第一個一百萬。雖然朋友們都住了更好的房子，但小菲也不準備用這筆錢來買更大的房子，他想繼續做他的投資生意。

這樣的生活，你可以接受嗎？

這樣的生活比起選擇直接買房子的版本，你覺得怎麼樣？

這是一個真實的故事，小菲和小蘇其實是你認識的人，他們叫巴菲特和蘇珊。

1951年，巴菲特在哥倫比亞大學畢業，由於在紐約找不到工作，他回到老家奧馬哈做股票經紀人，相當於今天證券公司的一名普通員工。

1952年，巴菲特遇到喜歡的女孩蘇珊。據說，巴菲特在結婚的時候跟他老婆說：「親愛的，我現在給你兩個選擇，我工作一年存了一萬多美金。現在，一是可以花一萬美金買一間小房子，二是讓我拿這一萬美金去投資，過幾年買一間大房子。」蘇珊說：「好，我相信你。」

1952年，巴菲特裸婚，與老婆蘇珊租下兩房一廳的破房子。

1953年，他們的第一個女兒出生。

1956年，租房子住了4年後，26歲的巴菲特成立巴菲特聯合有限公司 （Buffett Associates, Ltd.），開始創業。

1958年，他的投資開始穩定獲利，他花了31,500美元買下位於奧哈馬的一座灰色小樓，至今仍住在那裡。

1962年，十年後，巴菲特賺到人生的第一個一百萬（美元）。

2008年，財產620億美元，成為世界首富。
