目前二線車道以上的道路內側車道均禁行機車，但常遭機車族抱怨無路可走；公路總局近日發函宣布，省、縣道及該局代管道路，凡是單向為二或三線車道的道路取消內側禁行機車，四線車道則將禁行車道數由內側二個縮減為一個。但新制上路時程仍需視各道路標誌標線修改重劃進度而定。 交通部考量汽機車分流有助安全，目前規定機車應依標誌標線行駛和轉彎，包括單向二線車道以上的道路內側車道禁行、強制兩段式左轉等；無標誌或標線單向三線車道（含）以上道路也應兩段式左轉。 但不少機車族抱怨，二線車道內側不能走，外側又有公車停靠或停車格，根本是不給路走。
擁有二萬多名會員的中華民國機車黨為此長期向交通部爭取，日前終於獲公路總局同意，該局管轄的省縣道及代管道路，單向二、三線車道內側不禁行機車，單向四線車道原是內側兩線車道禁行機車，現放寬為僅最內側一線車道禁行機車。
公路總局說，已發函給各地養護工程單位宣布這項鬆綁措施，要求即起陸續進行檢討車道配置，及重新劃設標誌標線。此外，北市交工處表示，北市已因地制宜，評估取消內側線車道禁行機車，包括單向四線車道縮減內側禁行機車車道數。 此外，交通部也正研擬，將上述取消內側車道禁行機車的規定擴及全國，且單向二、三線車道的道路也不強制機車要兩段式左轉，讓機車族可比照汽車直接左轉，但也會評估讓綠燈號誌不連鎖，降低車速，避免汽機車相撞引發事故。交通部說，明年期末報告出爐後，明年底前擬找縣市試辦後擴大。 汽車族黃小姐說，機車常佔用快線車道，卻用龜速走或鑽來鑽去，汽機車混流實在很危險。機車族張先生則說，機車到處禁行，走在外側又遇到汽車和公車搶道，根本無路可走，還被逼車，新制只是還機車族基本路權。 ◎重點
．所有道路單向均保留3車道讓機車通行，若道路少於3車道，則所有車道機車均可通行
．單向2或3車道道路不強制機車2段式左轉
．擬讓綠燈不連鎖，避免機車高速行駛
◎時程
．評估報告出爐後，明年底前選定部分縣巿試辦新規 採訪開車的路人跟採訪騎車的路人怎麼回應都是相反的～～
好像有開車的說這樣車禍會更多，這來源下面的留言一堆四輪嘴臉罵交通部說這樣更危險～～ 且為何開放路權還得等到明年底～～
