（軍聞社記者郭家良特稿）今天是中華民國一０二年的國慶日，也是辛亥革命建立中華民國一０二週年紀念日，當國人歡慶雙十國慶，更因緬懷先烈英勇事蹟，為可歌可泣的建國史實感到無比驕傲與光榮，而國軍官兵尤應效法先烈的豪情壯志，傳承「救國家、救民族、救同胞」的精神，為捍衛中華民國，推動民主憲政而努力不懈。

　中華民國在全體軍民的攜手努力下，正穩健的迎向更嶄新的未來。因此，今年的雙十國慶以「風調雨順開太平、國運昌隆展新局」為主題，並以「攜手同心，共創榮耀」為主軸，在總統府前舉辦隆重的慶祝大會，除與國人分享國慶的喜悅外，也由國軍官兵及青年學子參與慶典的演出，希望讓下一代在活動中，體認雙十國慶深層的啟示，也藉以緬懷先賢先烈的豪情壯志，傳承愛國愛民的情操，進而彰顯國家生日的榮耀。

　今天我們雖以歡欣鼓舞的心情迎接雙十國慶的到來，卻不能忘記慶祝雙十的真正意涵，是在緬懷先烈先賢當年為救亡圖存，創建亞洲第一個民主共和國時，所付出的寶貴生命與心血，並感懷前人耕耘、栽培的辛勞，珍惜得來不易的百年基業，矢志捍衛中華民國民主、自由與繁榮。

　回顧民國肇建之後，歷經北伐、抗戰及剿共等橫逆，直到民國卅八年政府播遷來臺，臺海局勢在全體軍民團結奮鬥、同舟共濟努力下，逐漸度過各種險境，步向康莊大道，終於實現國父三民主義的理想，落實主權在民，創造民生樂利的社會。

　哲人日已遠，典型在夙昔。國軍在國家命運和民主憲政發展的歷程當中，一直扮演非常重要且不可或缺的角色，誠如馬總統所言，國軍在「光復臺灣」、「保衛臺灣」、「建設臺灣」及「守護臺灣」的歷程中，貢獻卓著；在慶祝雙十國慶的此刻，國軍官兵應當傳承先烈的豪情壯志，秉持「國家興亡匹夫有責」的精神，建立「以國家興亡為己任」的愛國意識，稱職扮演軍人的角色，無愧於憲法賦予的神聖使命。

孟加拉首都達卡郊區賈希普爾區的艾斯瓦德成衣廠九日失火，造成十人死亡，原因有待調查。大約半年前，達卡郊區的Rana Plaza成衣廠大樓倒塌，造成逾一千一百人罹難。（英國每日電訊報9日電）

選在總統府前升旗典禮同步時間，十多名留學英學雪菲爾大學的學生也不畏寒風，前往雪菲爾市政廳廣場高唱中華民國國歌與中華民國國旗歌，並將青天白日滿地紅的國旗掛於雪菲爾市政廳大門口。

旅英學生表示，這項行動除了想表達對於國家的思念與祝福，並藉此機會宣示台灣主權的獨立性，表達旅英學生處處受中國打壓的心聲。

活動發起人英國雪菲爾大學社會系博士生鍾明倫表示，旅英留學生處處受到來自中國的打壓，希望用理性方式讓國際看見台灣。

在唱國歌的過程中，許多經過市政廳的英國人及外國學生也駐足聆聽並上前詢問，雖然實際參與唱國歌的學生不多，十多位學生仍然堅持透過實際行動表達對台灣的祝福。

參與活動的楊姓留學生說，台灣目前處於民主發展過渡期，政黨惡鬥的文化瀰漫。他認為政府應多聽民意，確實扮演公僕角色。現場活動影片可到http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSE-pk23qXk 點選觀看。

【簡嘉宏╱綜合外電報導】今年諾貝爾文學獎新科得主加拿大女作家孟若（Alice Munro）出生於1931年7月10日，現年82歲，母親是個學校教師。
 
孟若11歲便立志寫作，希望長大後成為作家。1951年與丈夫詹姆士（James Munro）結褵，1963年夫妻倆合開的「孟若書屋」（Munro’s Books）曾被譽為「北美最好的書店」。1968年，孟若在文壇初試啼聲，出版了首部作品《快樂陰影的舞蹈》（Dance of the Happy Shades）。1972年與丈夫結束婚姻，1978年的作品《你認為你是誰？》（Who Do You Think You Are）獲得加拿大文學最高榮譽獎：加拿大總督文學獎。
 
孟若將她的生長地安大略省鄉間寫入作品中，刻畫人性弱點，短篇小說《來自遠山的熊》（The Bear Came Over the Mountain）2006年曾改編電影《柳暗花明》（Away from Her）。在獲得諾貝爾文學獎前，孟若已三次獲得加拿大總督文學獎（The Governor General's Literary Awards），2009年獲得布克國際獎（Man Booker International Prize），布克國際獎的評審團這樣形容孟若：「每次閱讀孟若的作品，都有新體驗」。
