關說風暴後，馬王終於在國慶大會上演大和解戲碼。馬英九總統結束20分鐘致詞後，走向致詞台時，主動伸手向大會主席、立法院長王金平致意。王金平也伸手握住馬總統的手臂，兩人握手長達5秒鐘，再一起走回觀禮台。

馬王兩人回座後，中間隔著總統夫人周美青。周美青和王金平數度交談，有說有笑。隨後馬總統也主動與王金平交談，神情輕鬆。由於豔陽高照，馬總統和王金平同時戴上大會準備的草帽，周美青還伸手幫馬總統調整帽子位置。

觀賞表演時，馬總統不時與王金平交談，笑容滿面手勢不斷，坐在中間的周美青也面露微笑，三人互動自然，氣氛相當熱絡。
