高鐵營運以來首次調漲票價，為了降低衝擊，台灣高鐵公司擴大優惠方案，早鳥優惠每周790班，優惠座位數比漲價前增加一倍，且有74班次提供全車對號座65折優惠，但必須於列車出發前28天到8天購票。另外，也新增60歲到64歲的「熟年優惠」，搭乘指定時間的車次可享75折。

高鐵公司統計，票價調漲後第一周 （10月8日至14日）的預售車票，共賣出15萬多張，較漲價前一周（ 10月1日到10月7日）增加三分之一，其中早鳥預購比率也增加三成。高鐵公司發現，民眾提早購票的比率增加，建議民眾可提早規畫行程，用比較低的優惠價格搭高鐵。

高鐵票價調漲議題引發各界關切，交通部長葉匡時說，會持續與高鐵公司溝通。他表示，高鐵公司已了解民眾的期待，高鐵臨時董事會應會有所回應，包括擴大優惠、降價等都是可以評估的方向。

【陳嘉恩／台北報導】環保聯盟、鹽寮反核自救會等團體今上午舉行記者會，宣告後天雙十節上午將在立法院前舉行「雙十反核四」行動，升起反核公民旗，要求核四立即停建。環保聯盟創會會長施信民說，若政府沒有遵照多數民意來停止興建核四，將要求倒閣、立院解散、總統下台。環團也發起民間版的反核四公投連署，要用人民的力量來終結核四。

在場團體代表高喊口號：「反核公民升旗來，擁核總統滾下台！」鹽寮反核自救會會長吳文樟說，呼籲馬政府不要再欺騙台灣人民，核四廠不斷增加預算，根本是詐欺台灣人民的血汗錢，若馬不廢核四，支持度恐從9％變成「地上趴」。廢核行腳成員高清南說，雙十節當天反核民眾也將從核四廠出發發起行腳活動，要花84天時間徒步環台，歡迎民眾參加完升旗活動後，到貢寮參與行腳。
