香港行政長官梁振英今天重申港元的法定貨幣地位。

上海自由貿易區的成立最近在港引起關注，有人憂慮上海將會成為金融自由區，威脅香港的角色，近日更有中國大陸學者建議香港改用人民幣為法定貨幣。

梁振英早上被記者詢問香港改用人民幣的問題時說，基本法規定，香港的法定貨幣是港元。

他又說：「香港作為國家的國際金融中心，我們高度開放，我們的優勢是明顯的，在這方面我們可以利用好我們的優勢……」

他說，香港的優勢包括高度國際化、高度開放，還有法治環境。

梁振英說：「用好這些優勢，可以為香港的經濟發展，我們國際金融中心的發展更上一個台階，從而為香港人提供更好的生活條件……」

這也是大陸省市非常重視與香港合作的一個方面。

明報今天報導，最快本週五揭牌的上海自貿區將會實施人民幣自由兌換等金融改革，引發「香港的人民幣離岸中心地位受威脅」的擔憂。

報導表示，兩名上海學者指出，自貿區無可避免會從香港搶走部分境外人民幣。

報導引述同濟大學財經與證券市場研究所所長石建勛說，如果香港擔心上海自貿區構成威脅，港府可考慮放棄港元，改以人民幣為香港的法定貨幣。

他的理據是：第一，港元是小貨幣，受制於美元和人民幣，前途有限；第二，國際大貨幣吃小貨幣是趨勢；第三，香港愈來愈倚靠大陸提供金融服務，卻要吃人民幣升值的虧。
