如果梅克爾的執政聯盟未能取得多數，最可能的結果是與社民黨結盟，組成大聯合政府，左右共治，如同她第一個任期的情形。

分析家說，如果選舉結果出現左右共治政府，預計經濟政策不會出現重大轉變，包括德國的歐洲政策。

梅克爾謹慎、務實與腳踏實地的形象，為她贏得「媽咪」（Mutti）綽號，而她也正如國民的母親一樣，深受民眾愛戴。這次擊敗對手連任，將使她成為唯一歷經金融危機仍屹立不搖的歐洲大國領袖。

她將繼艾德諾（Konrad Adenauer）與柯爾（Helmut Kohl）之後，成為第3位3連霸總理的德國領導人。

劉姓婦人和女兒前晚到高雄站，欲搭車回台南，六十多歲的蔡姓站務員看到女童拿氣球進站，當場戳破，引起劉婦不平，抱怨文章還貼至市長臉書，引來市長、市府關切，表示「執法態度有待改進」。

網友昨天不斷轉貼臉書文章「黃色小鴨斷魂記」，作者署名「白映俞」，文中表明高雄站員工看到她四歲女兒拿著氣球，就說：「氣球給我。」接著「砰、砰、砰」戳破。女兒被嚇傻、眼眶濕潤，對方只說：「不能帶氣球進去坐火車。」

「白映俞」寫道，自己確實不知不能帶氣球上火車，但無法理解站務員殘暴對待、侵吞破壞孩子的財產，「這樣同時打擊孩子對世界的信任，與孩子對母親的信心。」希望台鐵員工多點溫暖，讓家長用大袋子裝氣球。

文章吸引上萬名網友點閱，多數人抨擊台鐵；高雄站指出，站務人員依規定行事，但處理態度和方式可以委婉些。

陳榮彬說，副站長蔡蒼生當晚接到劉婦電話投訴，馬上查問，發現蔡員處理過程粗魯。蔡蒼生迅速回電向劉婦說明及道歉，對方同意接受賠償；站方昨已寄信道歉、賠一百元。

高雄站站長陳榮彬說，過去曾發生氣球飄到台鐵高壓電線爆裂，導致停電及火車停駛。車站明文公告「坐火車不得攜帶氣球」，員工通常會勸導旅客將氣球消氣或裝好，但民眾常爭執、不配合，員工也很為難。
