要理解這段，也許要多注意一下薩拉丁在這部片中被定位成怎樣的人格 前面一句 "Nothing" 的意義，很多人說過了，對他來說耶路撒冷真的不算什麼 至於後面一句... 在劇中有段劇情是這樣的（我不太確定是否是導演完整版才有的片段）： 當薩拉丁麾下的將領Mullah質問他為何要因痲瘋王King Baldwin IV的斡旋而撤軍， Mullah：為什麼撤退？神沒有眷顧他（King Baldwin IV），惟有神決定戰爭的勝敗！ 薩拉丁：勝敗由神決定...但也取決於備戰、兵力、健康以及水源， 　　　　有後顧之憂，更是不可圍城。 　　　　在我之前，神為穆斯林們贏過幾次戰爭？..."在神決定把我送來之前"。 Mullah：勝戰甚少...。那是因為當時我們罪孽纏身。　　　　 薩拉丁：那是因為你們沒有備戰。 Mullah：你抱持這種想法，在位必不長久。 薩拉丁：若我不在位，伊斯蘭更不堪設想。 另有一段是穆斯林入主耶路薩冷城後， 相對於急於消除基督教痕跡的穆斯林們， 薩拉丁卻還特地將 基督徒逃難時隨意棄置在地上的十字架 扶正並擺回桌上。 從這些劇中表現可以發現，本片中的薩拉丁是個相當理性的實用主義者 理性到幾乎不把穆斯林的真神阿拉放在眼裡 伊斯蘭教與基督教對他來說沒有差別，他一視同仁地予以應有的尊重 因此，他可以大方地放走本應淪為戰爭奴隸的十字軍與基督徒百姓 也因此，他能在史實中施行締造聖地和平的宗教寬容政策 對他來說，宗教是一碼事、政治與戰爭是另一碼事。 回到最後他與貝里昂的問答： 他看似隨意地回答："Nothing" 並準備返回陣中， 走沒兩步又回過頭來，面對貝里昂、倚著身後軍容壯盛的穆斯林軍團 作出類似展現力量的振臂握拳動作、帶著爽朗笑容又回答道："Everything！" （http://ppt.cc/FmZi） 貝里昂聽了之後也露出笑容。 我對這段對話最後的 "Everything" 解讀是： 對他來說，因為穆斯林收復聖地的夙願 才令他擁有名為蘇丹的王權、才讓他得以領導身後這支當世無人能敵的軍隊 所以即使耶路撒冷對 "他個人來說" 沒有什麼價值， 但他所擁有的一切仍然是這座聖城賜與他的， 因此既是 "Nothing" 也是 "Everyhing"。 在這層意義上，耶路薩冷對薩拉丁的意義與貝里昂是相同的 這座城池本身並沒有意義，他們兩人重視的都是別的東西： 貝里昂重視的是心靈的安寧、人民的安危、以及身為騎士的正義； 薩拉丁則是重視政軍上的權力、以及他一手建立的這個伊斯蘭帝國的存續。 因此，從薩拉丁的回答中看透了這點的貝里昂，才因此會心一笑。 ※ 引述《coober ()》之銘言： : ※ 引述《perfects1988 (LoserChan)》之銘言： : : 在看到這部份時 : : 貝里昂環顧四周問說：What is Jerusalem worth? : : 薩拉丁第一句回的：Nothing : : 我的感覺 : : 是指：這座城池不值得如此多人喪命於此(前面薩拉丁為死者禱告) : : 而第二句：Everything : : 指得是：但耶路撒冷我們宗教的聖地、精神上的依靠，這一切卻都又值得了 : : PS. : : 今天啃完EVA GREEN的"巴黎初體驗"、"永恆之門"、"王者天下" : : 不知道為什麼 : : EVA的情感並非最強烈 : : 但是演出來的腳色卻比其他人還顯明... : : 而昨天看了十幾遍"007首部曲：皇家夜總會"其中有EVA的片段 : : 試圖從她的表情動作 : : 更深入其中的心境轉換... : 我的看法 : 撒拉丁的兩句話代表了理性與感性 : 撒拉丁身為一個統治者 : 必然是以理性的思考 當時撒拉丁勢力龐大 : 對他而言 花如此多的兵力 征服一個沒有太多經濟效益的小城 : 一點意義都沒有 : 那句nothing : 代表了耶路撒冷這座城市 : 在當時的是沒有戰略地位的 : 接著就是感性 : 薩拉丁身為統治者 : 想到了征服聖城的光榮感 : 在理性嚴肅的外表下 : 撒拉丁骨子裡終究還是個回教徒 : 感性的一面發揮出來 : 爽阿!!~ 我征服了聖城 : 所以才會在答覆主角之後過幾秒 : 又情不自禁的回頭說了那句 " everything!!
