【蔣永佑／台北報導】林姓男子（44歲）去年5月中向柯姓房東承租北市大同區昌吉街某公寓4樓套房，卻在半個月內陸續將水果果核、果皮、菜葉、茶葉包及保險套等雜物丟入馬桶，以致馬桶嚴重阻塞糞水溢出，甚至導致三樓漏水，房東僱請水電工在水管維修孔挖出雜物，怒告林男毀損。
 
林男聲稱只倒泡麵剩湯進馬桶，懷疑水管設計不良，以致之前房客丟了異物沖不走才造成阻塞，法院傳喚裝修公司員工，查出房東整修房屋重新鋪設污水管線時，卻沒有設計足夠沖力，將林男所住房間馬桶內的雜物沖入排水主幹道。
 
法官認為，一般人生活上多少都會將部分小型垃圾丟入馬桶沖掉，林男不需要故意阻塞房內馬桶，讓自己無法使用，還冒押金被沒收的風險，因此在缺乏證據顯示他惡意堵塞馬桶下，判他無罪。房東得知判決後表示，房子遭污損至今未修復，考慮對林男求償。

嫁妝習俗在印度根深柢固，沒有嫁妝的新娘備受屈辱，每年都有無數新娘因嫁妝不足受夫家迫虐而死。《半島電視台》報導，在印度，平均每小時就有一名女性因嫁妝爭議而喪命。即使法律禁止嫁妝交易，寬鬆的法規卻難以壓倒傳統觀念、制止憾事。女權團體指出，隨經濟成長而生的貪念，讓需索嫁妝的歪風更盛。

印度數世紀以來存在著女方支付男方大筆嫁妝的習俗，對嫁妝的索求甚至可能持續到婚禮之後，嫁妝不足的新嫁娘可能遭到夫家虐待，甚至潑油焚燒。《半島電視台》引述「印度國家犯罪統計局」統計數據稱，去年共有高達8233名女性因嫁妝爭議喪命，平均每個小時就發生一樁憾事。

雖然印度法律明文禁止嫁妝交易，這項行之有年的習俗卻難以根除，普及於各種階層，連高知識份子都奉行此道。女方親屬在婚禮上贈予男方重金與車、電視等物資，才能保得新娘下半生安穩。電影「三個傻瓜」中，劇中的父親勉勵兒子「好好唸書，出人頭地，為姊姊買一台車當嫁妝」，正反映了此種習俗深植人心。

據「印度國家犯罪統計局」上周公佈的統計數據顯示，嫁妝謀殺的定罪率僅有32%之低。女權團體指出，現行反嫁妝交易法規的漏洞、警方執法不力與低定罪率，都助長了該項陋習。女權運動者庫馬利更指出，經濟成長讓人心愈發貪婪，年輕人受外來商品誘惑自身卻又無力負擔，轉而以要求更昂貴的嫁妝來取得。

印度女性對嫁妝陋習的不平，或可反映在一款名為「憤怒新娘」（Angry Brides）的臉書遊戲上。該遊戲於2012年初在網路上爆紅，遊戲中，新娘不再委屈求全，而是以憤怒的姿態手握鍋碗瓢盆等武器，丟擲需索無度的新郎。這款遊戲的設計概念，正是為了讓大眾提高對嫁妝議題的警覺心。

印度結婚季將至，8月份與9月份向來是金飾需求最盛的時節，金價也隨之上揚。然而隨著印度盧比貶值，購買力較低的民眾只怕更要叫苦連天。

U18世界杯青棒賽，委內瑞拉今天與捷克交手，先發投手羅培茲完投9局，送出8次三振，以6：2擊退捷克。
