總統府副秘書長羅智強今（12）日宣布辭職，他在臉書（Facebook）上留言指出，前幾天他剛滿4歲的小女兒做惡夢驚醒，醒來時哭著說：「媽媽，我好久沒看到爸爸了，我好想爸爸」，讓他思考去留問題，因此當他這次跟馬總統請辭獲得慰留時，他跟馬總統報告，「就讓我任性一次吧！我的心意已定了！」

羅智強說，他這幾天為了立法院長王金平涉入司法關說一事，平均一天大概只睡3個多小時，有一次，他的妻問他，「這樣忙碌與付出，到底為什麼？」，羅智強說，他想了想答道：「為的是問心無愧吧！」

羅智強說，這樣的理由，「也差不多支撐到了頂點了」，他坦承，過去一年，他開始思考去留問題，「當自己為了工作燃燒了所有，仍抵擋不了像黑色海嘯一樣的負面浪潮，那讓自己不知為何而戰」。

羅智強說，他在昨天晚上再度向總統請辭，「總統一如以往的希望我留下，希望我再多思考一下」，羅智強說他告訴總統：「就讓我任性一次吧！我的心意已定了！」總統這才點頭，尊重他的決定。
