暴風雪襲美　最低溫下探零下51℃

【簡竹君、李姿慧╱綜合報導】美國東北及中西部近日遭暴風雪冰封，已釀16死，美國半數人口，約1.4億人將籠罩在零下18℃的「20年來最冷空氣」中。

麻州波士頓前天降雪46公分，北部博克斯福德（Boxford）積雪61公分，全美近3500航班取消，逾1.2萬航班延誤。這波暴風雪情況還未緩解，下一波寒流又直撲美國東北部及北部平原區，未來幾天最低溫將下探零下51℃，專家警告皮膚直接暴露在此溫度中只要5分鐘就會結冰，官方不斷呼籲民眾不要出門，紐約與波士頓也積極搜尋街友安置室內。

氣象單位預測芝加哥明天將只有零下24℃、底特律零下20℃，都將寫下兩城市史上日間最低溫，預測指紐約市可能會是20年來首次低於零下18℃，明尼蘇達州已宣布明天停課。
