莊智淵下一站賽事為杜拜的ITTF（國際桌總）年終大獎賽，ITTF官網撰文指出，第14度參賽的莊智淵，居本次參賽選手之冠。

根據ITTF紀錄，年終大獎賽使上參賽次數最多的選手為中國大陸的王勵勤，他從2000年起與同胞馬琳主宰國際桌壇近10年，人稱「馬王時代」。

莊智淵這回參賽，也追平馬琳的14次紀錄，這次參賽選手中，最接近莊智淵的為中國大陸選手王皓，這是他第9次參賽。

只要再一次參賽，莊智淵就能追平王勵勤，對於參賽次數，莊智淵表示，並未關注這項紀錄，他比較希望能在年終大獎賽拿下好成績。

今天（5日）他於台苯邀請賽決賽敗給日本好手水谷隼，接著就得飛往杜拜作準備，比賽於1月9日至12日舉行，他說並無太多時間作投入訓練，因此會放輕鬆去打。
