席亞李畢夫在美國時間10日凌晨，突然在Twitter留言表示，自己決定提早「退休」！令所有人震驚萬分，不過也有傳媒質疑，他是學小賈斯汀「退而不休」，純粹宣傳伎倆，好為自己最近的壞形象大洗底。

席亞在Twitter表示：「鑑於最近因抄襲事件頻頻受到攻擊，我決定在所有公開場合退休，並感謝一路以來支持我的粉絲。」他更進一步在官網表示，自己想退出公眾視野，重新過普通人的生活。在此之前，大家也發現席亞缺席了新片《性愛成癮的女人》所有宣傳。

席亞退休的導火線，緣於他之前拍攝的微電影《Howard Cantour》，因為這部電影被指抄襲丹尼爾克勞斯（Daniel Clowes）2007年的漫畫「Justin M. Damiano」，席亞後來也坦白承認，還在上個月於Twitter留言道歉，「我在創作過程中迷失方向，並且忽略授權，我為沒有表明引用了丹尼爾克勞斯的「Justin M. Damiano」而感到羞愧......我希望丹尼爾克勞斯能夠知道，我非常尊重他的作品。」
