從昆明市政府新聞辦獲悉，昆明『3•01』事件事發現場證據表明，這是一起由新疆分裂勢力一手策劃組織的嚴重暴力恐怖事件。

根據新華網報導，3月1日21時，昆明火車站廣場發生蒙面暴徒砍人事件。截至2日6時，已造成29人死亡、130餘人受傷。民警當場擊斃4名暴徒、抓獲1人。目前，案件偵破工作正在緊張進行。受傷群眾已分別被安置在多家醫院，各級醫療部門已調集精幹力量，全力救治傷員。昆明火車站當晚各車次均已發出，昆明市社會秩序穩定。

『3•01』嚴重暴力恐怖事件，給人民群眾的生命財產安全造成了極大損失。有關部門表示，要以堅決態度、有力措施嚴厲打擊暴力恐怖犯罪活動，堅決維護人民群眾生命財產安全。
