季後賽首輪以2：3落後的休士頓火箭，3日上午10：30將作客波特蘭拓荒者，挑戰將戰線拉長到殊死第7戰，賽前看起來，火箭氣勢相當不錯。

「現在壓力都在波特蘭那邊了，我們只要上場享受比賽。」系列賽表現低迷的James Harden說。

「我們去那邊比過兩場，都打到延長賽，我們都有機會贏球，客場環境險惡，但我們有絕對的信心。」Harden說。

系列賽，火箭兩度作客分別以5分贏球、3分惜敗，Harden在這兩場平均繳出32.5分、6.5籃板、6助攻，但命中率只有39.3%，三分球命中率更低到27.3%。

第5戰，火箭台裔後衛「哈佛小子」林書豪打出生涯季後賽代表作，21分、4助攻、2抄截，命中率高達6成，不過他作客的兩場比賽表現平平，平均8.5分、5助攻，命中率35.3%。
