（中央社英國安特里姆4日綜合外電報導）北愛爾蘭警方今天釋放北愛爾蘭新芬黨黨魁亞當斯（Gerry Adams），警方為愛爾蘭共和軍（IRA）1起惡名昭彰的謀殺案訊問了亞當斯4天。

北愛警方將把亞當斯偵問案情彙報檢方。

北愛爾蘭警務處（PSNI）在聲明中說：「遭偵辦女子麥康維爾（Jean McConville）謀殺案警探逮捕的這名65歲男子，已經獲釋，有關他的報告將提交北愛爾蘭檢察署。」

愛爾蘭共和派領袖亞當斯4月30日晚間被捕，為1972年愛爾蘭共和軍涉及的1起謀殺案接受警方訊問。

麥康納爾是10個孩子的母親，案發時年僅37歲，她在兒女的哭喊聲中，遭人由首府伯爾發斯特（Belfast）的家中擄走，成為當年十餘起所謂「被失蹤」案件之一。她的屍體在2003年被發現，死於後腦中彈。

65歲的亞當斯強力否認涉及這起北愛最可恥的事件之一，並且質疑在選舉前逮捕他的時機。

愛爾蘭共和軍（IRA）現已停止武裝活動。新芬黨是愛爾蘭共和軍的政治組織，希望北愛脫離英國、加入愛爾蘭共和國，目前擔任新芬黨（Sinn Fein）領袖的亞當斯，在北愛和平進程中扮演要角。英國政府否認逮捕亞當斯出於政治動機。(中央社)
