馬航14年來出事5次　死了857人

英國《衛報》引述《five thirty eight》網站主編西利弗(Nate Silver)在推特提供的資料顯示，馬航從2000~2014年間，共發生5次事故，其中有3次是致命事故，並導致總共有857人死亡。

該份資料還與其他航空公司進行比較，其中台灣的中華航空在這14年間發生4次事故，其中有2次是致命事故，導致459人喪生。不過西利弗的這個數據出了問題，記者經查飛航安全資料網(Aviation Safety Network)顯示，在2000年後華航發生的重大致命事故，應只有發生在2002年的華航澎湖空難，造成機上225名乘客及機組員罹難。

另外，資料顯示韓航在這14年間發生過1次事故，但無人死亡。而新加坡航空發生1次事故，導致58人死亡。西利弗強調，其實過往的馬航飛安紀錄還算不錯，但今年碰上這2起事故，一下子讓馬航變成了「厄運飛機」。
