竹中老樹遭斷頭　護樹團體痛批亂剪

國立新竹高中創校悠久，因此校園內有不少老樹，籃球場旁種滿整排的肯氏蒲桃老樹，日前校方考量樹果常掉落球場，樹果和汁液會造成運動的學生絆倒或滑倒，因此決定修剪樹木，但修剪後老樹幾乎被剪個精光，以斷頭方式砍光樹枝，台灣護樹團體聯盟今天到校舉牌抗議，痛批：「校方殘害老樹，亂剪一通！」
 
新竹高中秘書張花興表示，當初決定砍樹完全是基於學生的安全考量，未來在修剪方式上會更謹慎小心。（林師民／新竹報導）
