資深交易員凱新(Art Cashin)周一告訴CNBC說，原油價格大幅下跌，有如兩面刃。

當然，低原油價格通常意味低汽油價格，亦即消費者有更多資金，可用於其他支出，UBS交易員凱新說。

「但卻可能為能源股帶來壓力，也可能再度創傷部份外國經濟，」擁有40年華爾街經驗的凱新說。

說實在的，原油價格似乎不太可能很快上漲。

與市場預期相反的是，科威特說，OPEC不太可能減產以支撐原油價格。沙烏地阿拉伯則私下告訴市場人士說，願意見到原油價格來到每桶80美元。

「沙烏地阿拉伯傳出的訊息，似乎顯示他們無意阻止油價下跌。」凱新說。「所以我認為原油價格將持續受到壓力。」

再回到股市，凱新說，S&P 500指數需要守在200日移動平均線1905點之上，即8月所觸及的低點。

「如果股市能守住該水準，或許可以小幅反彈，」凱新說。「我認為得再過二天，才能更好感受到市場脈動。」
