哈波李第二部小說要出版

美國出版公司哈潑科林斯上周宣布，要出版美國小說家哈波‧李 (Harper Lee)生平第二部小說，現在文壇和讀者在熱辯，88歲的哈波‧李心智到底健不健全。她的名著《梅崗城故事》 (To Kill a Mockingbird，又譯「殺死一隻知更鳥》半個多世紀以前轟動，現在，律師在她的舊紙堆裡挖出一包60年前寫的手稿，當時一位出版社編輯退她稿，要她重寫，就是後來的《梅崗城故事》。被退稿之作名叫《設立一個守望者》 (Go Set a Watchman，典出聖經以賽亞書62：6)，裡面許多角色和《梅崗城故事》相同。哈波‧李2007年中風，視力不良，耳聾，而且經常聲言不再出書，現在卻傳出要出版被退稿之作，引起爭議。不過，304頁的《設》精裝本7月才要出版，目前已經登上亞馬遜暢銷榜首
