Google是工作天堂？約聘員工現身說法：一年變地獄

自由彈性的工作環境和友善職場氣氛，讓在Google工作，成為千千萬萬人的夢想之一，大家都爭著要擠進大門。2011年被Google收購的餐廳評鑑指南公司Zagat，很幸運地也成為了Googler；就當Zagat的員工們都沉溺在Google 工作的美好氛圍裡，沒有人曉得2012年Google的一場內部大整頓，把他們全都整慘了。
Business Insider取得數名前Google Zagat部門員工的說法，整理出這段鮮為人知的故事；其中前 Zagat 編輯指出：「（在 Google）可能是我工作過最不快樂的地方，死寂地像個墓場，沒有人是開心的。」
為什麼美好的Google天堂會成為死寂墓場呢？故事是在Google創辦人Larry Page 決定要進行內部大整頓的那一刻悄悄開始的。
Google 內部大整頓，Zagat 部門成了沒人疼的孩子
2011年9月，Zagat公司被以1億2,500萬美元收購，成為Google收購金額第10高的公司。Zagat在被收購後，由當時的Google Maps副執行長 Marissa Mayer（現任Yahoo CEO）掌舵。
Marissa Mayer有意，也有心要好好拓展Zagat的業務領域，於是下令要求她的心腹Bernardo Hernandez負責並擴編Zagat部門旗下的編輯人數；但 Google總部對此持不同意見，最終解決辦法就是聘請約聘性質的編輯，以此提高編輯人數的數量。
