金磚廣場，這個廣場絕不僅僅是名字霸氣。湖南首屆黃金珠寶文化節啟動儀式暨黃金之城開業典禮在此舉行。湖南首條由200公斤金磚鋪成的『金光大道』讓人亮瞎了眼，『金光大道』旁180公斤重的金巧克力和100公斤重的銀巧克力也賺足了眼球。

根據紅網報導，黃金之城坐落於長沙芙蓉CBD的核心地帶建湘南路，這裡聚集了瀏城橋楚墓、簡牘博物館、定王台等眾多歷史文化遺址，結合這些豐富的歷史文化資源，芙蓉區規劃將這裡打造成湖南首條文化創意產業街『定王台楚漢文化旅遊商業街』。黃金之城也將成為湖南首家大型黃金賣場。目前，分散在長沙各處的黃金珠寶批發商已經在黃金之城集合起來並開始顯現集聚效應。

芙蓉區表示，對於已入駐和即將入駐的商戶，區委、區政府將制定稅收相關政策，實現政府立項，獲得專有市場配套政策，即稅、費的部分返還和獎勵。除此以外，黃金之城還會有臨時拆借資金權，並提供多種輕鬆融資方案。

黃金珠寶文化節還將推出湖南黃金珠寶展、香港珠寶嘉年華、秋冬季黃金珠寶新品秀、湖南黃金珠寶設計大賽、湖南黃金珠寶文化創意論壇、湖南黃金珠寶文化節閉幕式晚會等一系列主題活動，加速湖南珠寶文化產業的發展。

10月28日，湖南首條由200公斤金磚鋪成的『金光大道』引來眾人圍觀。
