據美國《赫芬頓郵報》報導，美國女攝影師埃莉諾·卡盧奇(Elinor Carucci)誕下一對雙胞胎後，用照片記錄下了自己初為人母的點點滴滴。該系列作品表現了卡盧奇撫養嬰兒成長為兒童的過程，包括剪髮、爭吵、親吻等鏡頭，從攝影師的視角展現出為人母的喜怒哀樂。

據新浪網報導，卡盧奇談到：『初為人母會讓我發生一些改變，我想記錄下這些變化。不僅僅是身體的變化，而是作為母親的通性。雖然這些作品不像聖母像一樣純潔美好，但我希望它能代表天下所有的母親。』
