臺北榮總十二月一日舉辦中期照護國際研討會

（軍聞社記者陳映竹臺北廿六日電）為推展中期照護服務，臺北榮民總醫院將於十二月一日舉辦「2013中期照護國際研討會」，邀請英、美老年醫學相關領域學者專家一同研究探討，期能有效提升老人醫療照護工作。

　臺北榮總表示，高齡化社會是未來趨勢，也是醫療體系必須面對的課題，「中期照護」正是因應高齡者所需而孕生出來的醫療照護方式，有效有效率的老年中期照護醫療，不但可以減少住院老年病患功能的退化及醫療資源的浪費，也可避免多餘的護理之家安置、增進病患滿意度、改善生活品質，甚至降低死亡率。

　臺北榮總並指出，希望藉由研討會中專家及實務推動者的經驗及意見交流，作為規劃未來經營長期照護體系的參考，為患者提供更優質的醫療服務。
