副總統月底出訪教廷　參加封聖儀式

外交高層透露，副總統吳敦義將在本月底展開「聖平專案」出訪我友邦教廷，參與兩位已故教宗的封聖儀式，這將是總統馬英九去年出訪教廷後，我國第二位高層官員訪問我歐洲友邦。外交官員說，教廷此次邀請各國派代表出席參加，所以副總統將代表我國出席，總統府上午10點將舉行記者會說明。

前副總統呂秀蓮之前也出訪過教廷。教廷雖是我友邦，但因位於歐洲，又要維持與中國關係，所以我國總統除了在教宗去世或新任教宗任命時出訪過，平時無法前往。（陳郁仁／台北報導）
