美國康乃狄克州1名男童由於先天患有罕見的肌小管病變，出生後醫師研判恐怕無法活過週歲。男童在週末期間屆滿13歲，高達400多名親朋好友歡喜為他慶生。

住在康州門羅（Monroe）的安東尼‧卡茲（Anthony Katz），先天患有肌小管病變（myotubularmyopathy），出生後被醫師診斷認為活不過1歲。這種罕見的基因病變，會造成患者全身肌肉無力，安東尼無法自行站立，也無法吞嚥食物。

然而，安東尼在父母細心呵護下，卻一年年逐漸長大，每年他的生日派對，前來祝賀的親友人數也越來越多。

目前就讀7年級的安東尼，10日慶祝13歲生日，高達400多名親朋好友參加了以安東尼最愛電影「怪獸大學」（Monsters University）為主題的生日派對。

安東尼的母親蒂娜‧卡茲（Tina Katz）接受媒體訪問時說，除了健康狀況之外，安東尼就像大部份的小孩一樣，平常會邀請同學到家裡玩，也會跟同學一起討論功課。

她說：「由於外表上的差異，擁有特殊需求的孩子們常會遭人誤解，但他其實就是一個平常的孩子，每天都上學去，雖然無法自行站立，可是他每天都認真過生活，喜好也跟其他孩子一樣。」1030513
