Sony針對入門無反光鏡機種推出新款α5100，標榜為全球最為輕巧內建閃燈系統APS-C ILC機種，同時搭配2430萬畫素感光元件與BIONZ X處理器，提供0.07秒高速對焦、179點相位混合式對焦系統。

Sony宣布針對入門款無反光鏡機種進行更新，此次所推出的α5100標榜為全球最為輕巧內建閃燈系統APS-C ILC機種，同時搭配2430萬畫素感光元件與BIONZ X處理器，提供0.07秒高速對焦、179點相位混合式對焦系統。

另外，在機身觸控螢幕點數也從原本46萬畫素增加至92.1萬點，並且內建Wi-Fi、NFC感應，並且支援50Mbps影像流量的XAVC S儲存格式，分別對應1080P@60fps，以及高達ISO 25600感光度。在外觀部分，則勢將原本入門機種過重的塑膠味加上蒙皮改善。

建議售價部分，α5100單機身為550美元，分別提供黑、白兩款配色，搭配16-50mm f/3.5-5.6電動變焦鏡為700美元，預計將在9月期間開賣。
