宏達電在官方微博證實，將於9月4號推出全球首款8核心64位元手機，市場推測，可能就是宏達電預計在IFA展上端出的中階新機Desire 820。

年度智慧機戰場德國柏林消費電子展(IFA)即將在9月5日開展，宏達電、索尼、三星、LG等都傳出將推出新機應戰。

宏達電先前在中國大陸官網上已釋出相關訊息，以閃電、豹奔、老鷹展翅翱翔、火箭升空、賽車和遊艇競駛的6張組圖，明示急速的意涵，又以「820」3個數字點名是宏達電下一個創新之作， 市場認為Desire 820呼之欲出。

如今HTC在官方微博證實，將於9月4號推出全球首款8核心64位元手機，且表示「這次還是第一」，市場推測，這款新機應該就是Desire 820，上市時間、定價策略和販售地區都是後續關注焦點。

高階市場飽和，中階高CP值機款成為市場寵兒，宏達電高規中價的Desire 816在中國大陸與台灣市場都相當熱銷，即將端出的Desire 820新機將搭載高通最新發表的64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615處理器，可支援LTE Cat 4網路，可望成為市場關注焦點，並帶動新一波中階熱潮。
