中華職棒本季「打高投低」，若無意外，年度MVP有機會從打擊群產生，義大犀牛林益全能否成為史上第4位蟬聯年度MVP的球員，最大競爭者應是隊友胡金龍。

中職史上曾出現3次蟬聯年度MVP的紀錄，分別是1993年、1994年兄弟象陳義信，1995年、1996年統一獅郭進興以及2005年、2006年誠泰COBRAS的林恩宇，林益全繼2009年之後，去年再次獲選年度MVP，今年若能蟬聯成功，也將是史上第1位3度拿到年度MVP的球員。

林益全目前打擊率3成38排名第二，榜首胡金龍是3成44，安打數133支排名第三，排名第一的胡金龍138支，排名第二的中信兄弟張正偉則是136支；林益全轟了12支全壘打，僅輸給Lamigo桃猿林泓育的16支，也是排名第二。

不過林益全71打點，排行榜排名第一，桃猿林智勝68打點緊追在後，這四個打擊個人獎項，林益全都有機會爭奪，季後賽進入最後一個月，林益全仍有機會締造佳績，為自己爭取今年的年度MVP增加更大的機會。
