休士頓火箭開季打出6勝1負戰績，戰力不但沒有因為林書豪、阿西克 (Omer Asik)、帕森斯 (Chandler Parsons)離隊下滑，凝聚力、陣容深度和競爭力反而上升。火箭教練麥克海爾 (Kevin McHale)表示，「火箭更有凝聚力，泰瑞、艾瑞查、賈西亞三名老將價值連城。」

休士頓紀事報報導，麥克海爾把火箭今年戰力不墜，凝聚力更強，陣容深度更出色歸因於老將價值。

「火箭因為泰瑞 (Jason Terry)和艾瑞查 (Trevor Ariza)到來受益，我們變成一支更好的團隊，大家相互負責，彼此信賴，我喜歡這樣的改變」麥克海爾為火箭今年開季打得如此火爆說明原因。
