美國一個祕魯移民家庭的7兄妹，因為父親酗酒，認為小孩會被紐約「汙染」，於是將他們關在家中14年，7人靠著觀看5000部的電影了解世界。

7兄妹的母親之前是嬉皮，小孩被父親禁足後，由她負責教他們讀書識字，另外，7兄妹則利用看電影發洩情緒。名導克里斯多福諾蘭、馬丁史可西斯、昆汀塔倫提諾等，都算是他們的「導師」，7兄妹甚至認為蝙蝠俠是真有其人。

直到2010年，其中一人終於受不了逃離家園，碰巧遇上紀錄片導演莫蘇爾（Crystal Moselle），漸漸地，導演也和其他兄弟成為朋友，並得到家人信任，將他們的故事拍成電影「狼群」（Wolfpack）搬上大螢幕。而該紀錄片獲得美國聖丹斯電影節（Sundance Film Festival）評審團大獎，六兄弟及母親都出席領獎，唯獨妹妹缺席。
