般若經的基本教義是般若.即菩提.

慧（梵文：प्रज्ञा，梵文：Prajñā，巴利文：paññā），也稱為智、智慧，音譯為
bōrě 般若

般若在中國多指為智慧.

慧（Prajñā）有是一種知覺能力，是一種分辨是非、於法簡擇的能力，有情眾生都擁有這種能力。具備慧的人，可依自己的觀察力，有正確選擇.
