美國紐約一對父母14年來不准7名子女外出，一直把他們困在家裡。這7個孩子只能透過看電影了解外部世界，先後看了約5000部電影，直到近年才逐漸融入現實生活。

中新網據外媒報導，這7個孩子包括6名男孩與最大的1名女孩，他們的父親是秘魯裔移民，患有偏執狂且嗜好酗酒，他認為子女在紐約這個花花世界會被教壞，所以不准他們出門，由做過嬉皮士的母親在家教育他們，一家人依靠救濟金過活。

2010年，導演莫塞勒偶然在街頭巧遇7姐弟中罕見逃出家門的幾名男孩子，看到他們都戴墨鏡，排成佇列，扮成昆汀·塔倫提諾成名作《霸道橫行》中的人物，令她大感詫異。

此後，莫塞勒逐漸獲得這家人的信任，發現7人為滿足對外界想像，喜歡重演電影中的情節，最愛導演則是昆汀·塔倫提諾及馬丁·史柯西斯等。莫塞勒將這個離奇的故事拍成紀錄片，並在上月的日舞影展上獲得大獎。
