Sales momentum of iPhone 6 devices has continued in the first half of 2015, particularly in the second quarter, which will enable Taiwan-based flexible PCB suppliers including Zhen Ding Technology Holding, Career Technology and Flexium Interconnect to post stronger than expected sales performance in the first half, according to industry sources.
Shipments of iPhone 6 devices totaled 74.5 million units in the fourth quarter of 2014, making quarterly iPhone shipments the highest since 2007, the sources indicated.
Sales of iPhone 6 devices remain brisk in the first quarter of 2015, defying the previous trend under which shipments of iPhones would have begun to edge down quarter by quarter after launch, said the sources.
Furthermore, demand for iPhone 6 devices in the China market is expected to reach over 10 million units in the second quarter of 2015, supporting the growth momentum, added the sources.
Flexium posted an EPS of NT$4.05 in the fourth of 2014, which was higher than expected and reflected orders from Apple, the sources noted.
Zhen Ding posted a net profit of NT$6.735 billion (US$215.48 million) or NT$9.12 per share, in 2015 and is expected to see its EPS to climb to NT$10 in 2015, the sources estimated.
