在軍隊有「軍紀」；在辦公室，則是有「規定」。要遵守相關規定，才不致於「失職」。職場違反規定，輕則影響工作團隊，重則丟了飯碗，並留下職涯負面評價。身在國際職場，我們藉此機會學一下「遵守規定」的英文說法。

要「遵守規定」，最簡單的動詞是follow，這follow是「跟隨、跟著」，跟著規定走當然也就是「遵守規定」；例句：

What we need to do over there is to follow the rules of the company.（在那裡我們需要做的事情就是按公司規定做事。）

除了follow，也可以用obey，它有「服從、聽從、遵守」之意；例句：

Those are the regulations set by the management, and we have to obey.（那些是管理階層制定的規定，而我們必須遵守。）

此外，也可以用稍微正式的：comply with、abide by、conform to，但是要小心正確使用它們跟隨著的介係詞，comply要用with，abide要用by，conform則是要用to或是with；例句：

After the committee discussion, every participant needs to comply with the final decision.（在委員會的討論之後，每位參加者都要遵守最後決定。）

Mr. Smith believed that her staff would abide by the orders.（Smith先生相信他的部屬們會遵從命令。）

These teenage drivers are advised to conform to the traffic laws.（這些青少年駕駛被告知要遵守交通法規。）
