三星電子預計，該公司第三財政季度營業利潤較上年同期減少一半以上，主要因智慧手機銷售疲軟；這使得該公司除了更多地依靠晶片業務推動未來利潤增長之外基本上沒有多少選擇餘地。

鳳凰財經據華爾街日報報導，該公司的利潤有60%以上源於手機銷售，由於來自大陸對手的激烈競爭依然給該公司的手機業務利潤帶來壓力，投資者出於對其前景的擔憂拋售該公司股票。

三星電子周二表示，該公司第三財季營業利潤或較上年同期下降57.8%-61.8%，至3.9兆韓圓(合36億美元）-4.3兆韓圓。該公司上年同期營業利潤為10.2兆韓圓。接受調查的七位分析師認為，該公司的營業利潤或為4.3兆韓圓。該公司未公布各業務的利潤詳細預期，實際業績情況將於本月晚些時候公布。
