馬來西亞政府宣布，明年9月起將全面實行強制垃圾分類制度，並採取「2+1」收集垃圾作業方式，而不配合分類者可能遭遇拒收垃圾的下場。

城市和諧、房屋及地方政府部發表聲明表示，目前多個州和直轄區地方政府已從今年9月起推行這項措施，包括吉隆坡、布特拉再也、彭亨、柔佛、麻六甲、森美蘭、玻璃市和吉打州。

而垃圾種類須按照塑膠、紙張、紙皮、玻璃、金屬、廚餘、大型垃圾和園林廢料來分類。

國家固體廢料管理局（JPSPN）已草擬了有關措施的規則和指南，並將派發給人民及舉辦解說會，讓人民對該措施有更深入的瞭解。其中固體廢料和廚餘每星期收集兩次，再循環垃圾、大型垃圾和園林廢料每星期收集一次。(中央社)
