針對有臺灣輿論稱，習近平會見親民黨主席宋楚瑜，『意在對馬英九表達失望與不滿』，大陸國台辦發言人馬曉光在北京舉行的記者會上表示，這是一種完全錯誤的解讀。

根據中新網報導，馬曉光說，我們同臺灣堅持一中、反對『台獨』、贊成兩岸關係和平發展的政黨、團體和人士加強交往，就兩岸關係交換意見，是為了共同推動兩岸關係更好地發展，造福兩岸同胞。這是我們一貫的政策，也是一貫的做法。

馬曉光指，如果說我們有一個訴求的物件，那就是廣大臺灣同胞。習總書記的講話，『四個不會』的提出，已經表明我們願意跟臺灣同胞真誠溝通的誠意和善意。
