警犬頻頻見報，但不是英勇擒賊，反而是咬傷自己友、失蹤墮海、走失被車撞死、與同類打鬥等，問題多多。
出事警犬大多為警犬隊近十年引入的比利時牧羊犬（瑪蓮萊），市民議論紛紛，有說瑪蓮萊不受控根本不宜作警犬，又有說應該重新引入德國牧羊犬（狼狗），更有人擔心咬人警犬會被處分人道毀滅。
