桃園縣長吳志揚今天率隊前往大園鄉新街溪出海口，參與淨灘活動；他呼籲大家愛護海洋環境，還給大自然一個美麗的環境。

為配合世界環境日和世界海洋日，桃園縣政府與大園公所今天聯合在大園鄉新街溪出海口附近，舉行海岸淨灘活動，吳志揚和上千名民眾一起捲起袖子動手清除岸邊垃圾。

吳志揚談到，台灣四面環海，保護環境，守護海洋，就是愛家鄉、愛地球的最佳表現。

由於連日來豪雨，造成海灘堆積可觀的垃圾量，吳志揚呼籲鄉親善盡地球村公民的責任，發揮公德心，勿將垃圾和廢棄物棄置在溝渠、河川，還給大自然一個美麗環境。

環境保護局也表示，大園圳頭村軍史公園附近就是新街溪的出海口，每年10月至隔年3、4月，有不少鳥類進出，成為各種水鳥、黑面琵鷺的棲息地，更是桃園的重要自然資產保護區，希望大家愛護大自然，給自己，也給他人一個優質的休憩環境。(中央社)
