一天內『失憶』20次，這曾經是英國坎布里亞郡21歲女子艾奧娜‧戴維斯的日常生活。而艾奧娜之所以會出現這種情況，是因為她患上了腦癲癇。

中新網據外媒報導，艾奧娜在14歲時開始出現腦癲癇症狀。發作時，艾奧娜會失去意識，並且口中喃喃自語，但每當她醒來，卻記不得自己病發時的情景。到17歲時，艾奧娜每天發病多達20次，高峰時更每5分鐘發作一次，情況嚴重時，她甚至會身體抽搐。最終，艾奧娜被確診患上腦癲癇。

腦癲癇令艾奧娜無法獨立生活，甚至連洗澡也需要有人陪同照顧。艾奧娜的親友很照顧體諒，但艾奧娜卻覺得自己像是沒機會長大。腦癲癇還影響了艾奧娜的記憶力，她在閱讀時經常忘記自己讀到哪一段。

在醫生的建議下，艾奧娜於去(2013)年10月接受了腦部手術。這一手術風險雖高，但卻有機會治好艾奧娜的腦癲癇。醫生切除了艾奧娜左腦上一個拇指大小的範圍，以及部份記憶區。

現在，艾奧娜的病症平均一星期只發作一至兩次，生活也恢復了正常，不但可以經常外出，還能兼職家務助理。艾奧娜的母親也很高興腦部手術沒有為女兒帶來後遺症。
