統一獅隊去年封王功臣費古洛，本季雖是隊上最多勝投手，教練團評估他的壓制力不如過去，昨天決定提前解約，「831洋將登錄大限」最後一席，留給爆米花夏季聯盟MVP李韋斯。

獅隊想拚連霸，下半季奪冠是唯一機會，本季最後3名洋將馬帝斯、畢爾、李韋斯身負重任。

費古洛在2007年首度來台，去年回鍋獅隊，兩次都幫球隊奪下總冠軍；今年在中職第3季，戰績8勝7敗、防禦率3.39，和廖文揚並列獅最多勝、全聯盟暫居第4。

陳連宏表示，費古洛上、下半季各有4勝，雖能控制失分，但被安打較多，因此決定解除賓主關係，未來也不會留他當教練。

費古洛剛滿40歲，在中職3季合計出賽43場（42場先發），投出22勝11敗、防禦率3.08；他雖簽有保障約，薪水可領到9月底，得知被解約的消息，還是難過落淚，年底可能轉戰冬季聯盟賽事。

獅隊昨天向中職官方註冊李韋斯，解決工作簽證問題後，下周就可先發登板；他今年29歲、多明尼加籍，原是崇越隊投手，剛在爆米花聯盟封王，成為首位由爆米花轉戰中職的洋將。
